St Joseph's Outreach Services operates 365 days of the year and requires the assistance of dedicated volunteers who provide much-needed support to our services. Voluntary work is a rewarding activity where you can connect with like-minded people, develop your skills and help to improve the quality of life for all involved.

Join our vibrant team and make a difference...

We are always looking for new volunteers, whatever your age (18 and over), to help support the services we provide to the community. The volunteers work with a roster system, preferably in teams, to manage the various activities and the services are provided throughout the week and the weekend. Anyone, with some time, and some energy, can become a volunteer with SJOS.

We often look to our ‘volunteer army’ for assistance during holiday periods and weekends, especially in our Food Store and in other areas:

  • Fundraising - organising and working at events
  • General cleaning and restocking of the units at resident change-over
  • Working in the Food Store
  • Purchasing groceries and restocking the Food Store
  • Collecting the bread and bakery goods for the Bread Bank
  • Stocking the Bread Bank purpose-built a freezer
  • Providing light maintenance services
  • Social Media  Administration

What makes a great volunteer?

We need compassionate, energetic people who can bring their skills and enthusiasm to the following facets of our organisation. Whether for an hour or half a day, every minute of volunteering is appreciated.
